We believe that by becoming experts we are better able to help and advise our customers. We have become qualified welders, taken gas engineer courses and passed our Pub Management qualifications.

So to help us become the best retailer of BBQs, six of our staff attended Grill Academy over 3 days at the amazing Swinton Park in Masham (www.swintonpark.com).

Delivered by highly qualified chefs we had a great time and learned loads. As well as covering off key skills such as lighting and temperature control, we discovered how to perfect steaks, roasts, pizzas and even cakes. During the Seafood Workshop we learned everything from smoking mussels to grilling whole fish, and discovered how to create delicious seafood dishes using a variety of cooking methods on both charcoal and gas barbecues.

During the American BBQ courses we discovered American barbecue cuisine and created deliciously authentic dishes from scratch: from spicy chicken wings to a side of signature slaw, and even something for those with a sweet tooth.

Among the array of different meats that we cooked throughout the days, we were asked to prepare and cook a rack of ribs and also received a demonstration from the chef on how to prepare and smoke a beef brisket low ‘n’ slow

We had great fun, ate everything we cooked and can now offer real expert advice on all our BBQS.
