innergy Group, the Yorkshire-based gas and equipment experts, have acquired Goole based S&R Gases Ltd and Goole Gas & Welding, their third and fourth acquisitions in just 15 months.
Owned and managed by Peter and Stephanie Millard, Goole Gas & Welding started trading in 1999 and has grown to become one of East Yorkshire’s leading suppliers of bottled and industrial gases. Peter Millard actually managed the site from 1988 when it was a BOC Centre before taking the opportunity to take ownership of both the site and the business.
Gez Walsh, Managing Director of innergy said: “Both Goole Gas & Welding and S&R Gases, under Peter and Stephanie’s leadership, have built a wonderful reputation with their customers for exceptional service, which is something that has always been a huge focus for us. We also see fantastic opportunities to introduce our expanded product range in to the Goole Gas customer base, such as drinks dispense gases and solid fuels.
We continue to actively look for suitable acquisitions within the bottled gas and welding supplies industries. Many people are looking to take advantage of the current favourable taxation environment and we would love to discuss with company owners how we can put together an attractive package to help them realise full value for their hard built businesses whilst protecting their employees and maintaining the high quality service their customers have come to rely upon.”
Peter Millard, Managing Director of Goole Gas & Welding said: “It was important to Stephanie and I to be able to entrust the business, its employees and its customers to a company that shares our customer focus and understands the importance of being a considerate employer. innergy have the expertise, ambitions and resources to further grow the business, innergy made this transaction as easy as possible and put together a package which met all of our requirements.
Over the last 30 years Stephanie and I have had some wonderful times, have some great stories and fond memories that we will always cherish. Many of you have become friends. But it now is time for us to relax a little and enjoy a well-deserved retirement.”
